Two men wounded in a gun battle by rival gangs in the Northridge subdivision have been identified.
According to a sheriff's report released Saturday night, Israel Ralla, 20, was shot three times in the chest, arm and ankle. He is listed in critical but stable condition at Renown Medical Center in Reno.
Luis Martin Saavera-Silva, 20, was struck in the head. He was transported by Care Flight to Renown where he had surgery Saturday. He is in critical condition.
About 100 people, mostly Hispanic youths, were attending a Halloween party on Longridge Drive when a fight by members of two rival gangs erupted into a gun battle just before 9:30 p.m. Friday.
Neighboring houses were also struck by bullets, according to the sheriff's report.
Witnesses interviewed at the scene have not provided any substantial information, which is hampering progress, the report stated. Deputies from additional patrols and gang units are assisting in the investigation.
