The committee for the re-election of Justice of the Peace Robey Willis has scheduled a "Run with Robey" event beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday at Empire Ranch Golf Course. Willis is seeking a fourth term on the Department 1 bench.
There will be running and walking competitions, and participants will be separated into age categories beginning with 10 years and under.
Awards will be given to the top three winners in each age group of the men's and women's run and men's and women's walk. There will also be a bench press contest on the patio at the golf course.

Willis, 63, began his judicial career in 1984 as a juvenile special master and associate municipal court judge. He was appointed justice of the peace and municipal court judge in 1989 to fill a vacancy and was first elected in 1990. The post is non-partisan.
Allen fires ace at Thunder Canyon
Buzz Allen shot a hole-in-one on the 198-yard 12th hole on Tuesday at Thunder Canyon. His wife, Kay Allen, witnessed the ace.
