A graveside service for Jesse Lee Courtney, 72, a Gardnerville resident, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Doyle Cemetery in Doyle, Calif., with an honor guard presentation by the Reno Police Department.
Mr. Courtney died Sept. 5, 2006, in Carson City. He was born Oct. 15, 1933, in Kentucky.
He was a police officer and a detective for more than 34 years, and had served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. He also ran the Sportsmen's Inn Restaurant in Bridgeport, Calif., with his ex-wife.
He enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles and nickel machines.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Robbie Lynn Courtney.
Among his survivors are his ex-wife and friend, Jean Courtney of Bridgeport, Calif.; son, Gordon Courtney of Bridgeport, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law Debbie Courtney-Parisi and Pier Parisi of Ft. Collins, Colo.; three grandchildren and numerous extended family members and friends.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
