As adults, we frequently overlook and forget the experiences children have with God.
My mother, Helen Katherine Ludlam, sang in the Los Angeles English Grand Opera Company and sang and preaches at the Los Angeles Midnight Mission.
When I was 5-years-old, the following occurred:
After a service at The Midnight Mission, a man came to my mother and told her there was trouble brewing for her and that he would walk us to the streetcar stop. Also, he said there would be a man in each doorway to protect us.
As we were walking, she pointed out these men to us. We arrived at the streetcar stop, climbed into the car and were safely on our way.
Following this incident, my mother discussed and explained God's protection for His children and the ways in which He provides it. One way we can witness to others is to share what God has done in our lives.
It is important to discuss with children the place God has in their lives so they can then share their experiences with others.
Have you shared with your children any experiences you have had with God?
If you do this, your children are more likely to follow your example.
