About 400 Dayton residents were without power for just over an hour midday Thursday following an earlier equipment failure.
There was an equipment failure in an underground electrical vault under Fortune Drive in Dayton at 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning, causing about 150 homes to be without power, according to Karl Walquist of Sierra Pacific Power.
"In order to complete the repairs, we had to switch off power to a number of other customers in the area," Walquist said.
An additional 250 homes were affected by the additional outage, beginning at 12:20 p.m. All power was restored by 1:30 p.m., according to Walquist.
The blackouts were centered in the subdivision behind Smith's on Highway 50 East in Dayton. The blackout included homes on Fortune, Monte Cristo, Sugarloaf and Northgate drives; Willie Way and Valley Circle.
