A celebration of life for Howard Leslie "Les" Linaman, 68, a Reno resident and former 17-year Washoe Valley resident, will be on Saturday. Friends are asked to call 825-7814 for time and directions. Attendees are asked to wear bright clothing in honor of Mr. Linaman.
Mr. Linaman died Sept. 25, 2006, at home of complications from prostate cancer. He was born April 14, 1938, in Los Angeles to Louise E. James and Howard S. Linaman.
He graduated from Compton High School in 1956 and attended Long Beach State College, before earning a master's degree in social work from Fresno State College in 1971.
He worked in both the child-welfare and mental-health fields, retiring in 2000.
He enjoyed drawing, sculpting, pastel and oil painting, bridge, movies and popcorn.
Among his survivors are his wife, Denise Linaman; sons Milo, Paul and Matt Linaman; daughters Emily and Sarah Linaman; and several extended-family members and friends.
Final Wishes Funeral Home in Reno is in charge of arrangements.
