Donations are being accepted for a Carson City family who lost everything in a fire this week.
Clothing, household goods and furniture can be dropped off at the Nevada Appeal building at 580 Mallory Way today through April 18.
"Everything burned," said Gabby Morgan, who shared a rental home on East Adams Street with her 2-year-old daughter, Marianne, 3-year-old nephew, Mario Jr., sister-in-law Miriam Meza and brother Mario Meza.
Morgan said she was fortunate that her clothing is salvageable, but the rest of the family wasn't so lucky.
"They lost everything," she said.
The duplex was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived just after noon on Tuesday.
Miriam Meza and Mario Jr. were home at the time and able to escape. Her son suffered smoke inhalation and singed hair.
Meza told police she was cooking in the kitchen when the power went out. When she looked into a bedroom, she could see flames.
Her screams alerted her neighbor who was also able to evacuate. Fire crews contained the blaze to Meza's unit. The rear unit suffered smoke and water damage.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Miriam Meza wears a size 11 pants, large shirts and size 8 shoes. Mario Meza Jr., wears size 4 toddler clothing and size 9 shoes. Mario Meza Sr., wears an extra-large shirt, size 36 pants and size 10.5 or 11 shoes and Marianne Morgan wears size 3 toddler clothing and size 8 shoes.
