Dorothy Nash Holmes has resigned her position as deputy director of programs in the Nevada Department of Corrections, effective April 13.
Holmes has held that position since December 2005 when the director of programs post was created by then prison director Jackie Crawford.
Holmes was in charge of developing programs ranging from drug and alcohol treatment, geriatric care for aging inmates, educational and vocational programs for inmates, expanded GED programs and re-entry programs to help inmates make it in society once they are released.
Prior to taking the job with corrections, Holmes was a high-ranking deputy under Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa. Before that, she served four years as Washoe County District Attorney.
