Looking for golfers and local talent

I think it's important to thank the community members after they've supported a fundraiser, to let them know how much they helped.

The Carson High School Baseball Hair Cut-A Thon brought to the team $2,200.

A special thank-you to the stylists who stayed there from 10 a.m. -5 p.m. cutting for free: Sharon McCulley, Renee McCulloch and owner of Attitudes Salon, Brandi Plattsmier. Also, I wanted to thank all the coaches and players who hung out all day helping, and meeting the people who came in to support their team.

I am always amazed how this town steps in for so many great causes.

Coming up, we have the annual Cracker Box/Adele's Golf Tournament - even the name sounds tasty.

Community Counseling Center has two of the city's finest gentlemen, Charlie Abowd and Jerry Massad, putting on the tournament.

It's not until May 6, but I am putting it in early because I know it sells out very quickly. So if you want to have a great time, while supporting the Community Counseling Center, this is the tournament.

It's that time when the children start getting spring fever.

Here's an opportunity to channel that energy.

The new Wild Horse Theater Productions Children program's is hosting "Museum Idol" to find the best singers, dancer, jugglers and other talented kids in the community.

It's open to all kindergarten through eighth-graders in town. What a great idea, and a way we can promote more local talent and children in positive venues.
