How long have you lived there? Since 1992

Where did you live before moving to your present home? San Diego

How long a volunteer at present location? At least 10 years. I have also served several terms on the advisory board of the center in the past.

How long have you been a volunteer, overall? I began volunteering at Carson-Tahoe Hospital 12 years ago

Specific job duties? I cover the desk where I greet the diners and visitors. I help set up the food counter. I deliver beverages and refills to the diners. I help count the money collected for the meals.

How much time do you volunteer per week? I continue to volunteer one day per week at the hospital - Wednesdays. I help out solo or in conjunction with others four days per week at the center.

Why, how did you become a volunteer? To keep busy.

Favorite thing about volunteering? I enjoy the people.

Family? (Immediate): I have three children. I live with my daughter, Chris, in the Highlands; I have seven grandchildren. I have lost track of the greets and multiple greets.

If retired, former profession? I worked for an attorney service in San Diego. We delivered messages for numerous law firms in the city.

What would you tell others to encourage them to become a volunteer? The way I look at it, you receive much more than you give and that sums it up.
