Carson City


Senior center to hold dance


There will be a senior dance from 7-10 p.m. today at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, 911 Beverly Drive.


Cost is $6 and there will be a no host wine bar, as well as live entertainment from Don and Nadine. Call 883-0703.


WNCC to hold Deaf Pride Day


Western Nevada Community College's American Sign Language club will host the first Deaf Pride Day from noon to 5 p.m., today at the Joe Dini Student Center.


All deaf and hard of hearing members of the community are encouraged to attend, as well as those interested in learning American Sign Language. This event is free and open to all ages. There will be refreshments, prize drawings, storytelling, information about the Deaf Studies program, arts and crafts, face painting free caricature drawing by a local artist and games for children. Storey County


Spaghetti feed in Storey tonight


There will be a spaghetti feed at 5 p.m. today at the Storey County Senior Center, at the corner of E and Mill streets. Adults are $5, children 5-12 are $3 and children under 5 are free. Wine and soft drinks will be available, and there will be a raffle. Proceeds benefit the Meals on Wheels Program.

UNR to hold powwow today and Sunday


The University of Nevada, Reno will be holding it's third annual powwow today and Sunday at Mackay Stadium. The sessions will be from noon-5 p.m. and 7-10 p.m. today, and from noon-5:30 p.m. Sunday. Call 784-4936.


Joe Piscopo offers Sinatra tribute


Breathing life into one of his all-time favorite sketch subjects, Joe Piscopo creates a singing tribute to Frank Sinatra in a "Tribute to Ol' Blue Eyes" at 8 p.m. today in the Celebrity Showroom at John Ascuaga's Nugget in Sparks. Lake Tahoe


Hard Rock Cafe will host benefit


The slopes will be rockin' as Hard Rock Cafe Lake Tahoe holds the free official after-party for the Girl Powder Snowboard "Thrashin' and Fashion" event today.


Hard Rock will host the outing with Girl Powder Inc., a female snowboard and ski apparel company. During the event, Reno-based alternative-rock band PUSHBox and Orlando-based rock band MILKA will take the stage for live performances. Proceeds from the event will benefit former San Diego Charger cheerleader Lyly Koenig, a breast cancer patient who is currently undergoing chemotherapy.


It all takes place at the Hard Rock Cafe inside Harveys Resort Hotel & Casino, Highway 50 West. Call 588-6200.
