All Metals Processing Co. Inc. of Nevada has been evacuated following a hazardous materials incident at about 11 a.m. today.
According to reports from the scene, someone at the plant accidentally mixed two chemicals together creating an orange plume of toxic smoke.
One person has been taken to Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center after inhaling the fumes.
The processing company and the cul de sac to the east of the property have both been evacuated. The company is at the corner of Fairview and Lepire drives, 751 Fairview Drive.
Northbound traffic between Butti Way and Desatoya Drive is reduced to one lane.
Members of the tri-county hazardous materials team are on their way from Douglas and Lyon counties. Carson City's haz mat team is on scene along with the fire and sheriff's departments.
