The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent until proved guilty in court:
• Martha Lopez, 27, a tax advisor from Carson City, was arrested at 12:01 a.m. Sunday at Roop Street and Beverly Way on suspicion of felony passing checks without sufficient funds. Bail was set at $1,500 cash.
• A 36-year-old painter from Carson City was arrested at 4:37 a.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of Old Hot Springs Road on suspicion of misdemeanor battery. Bail was set at $1,132.
• A 30-year-old unemployed Carson City resident was arrested at 11:20 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Adams Street on suspicion of misdemeanor disorderly conduct. Bail was set at $237.
• A 22-year-old construction worker from Carson City was arrested at 1:07 a.m. Sunday at Northridge and Carriage Crest drives on suspicion of misdemeanor drunken driving, hit-and-run accident causing property damage, reckless driving, no valid insurance and possession of firearm while intoxicated. Bail was set at $4,260.
• A 20-year-old stocker from Carson City was arrested at 6:31 p.m. Saturday in the 3200 block of Market Street on suspicion of misdemeanor failure to appear. Bail was set at $200 cash.
• A 19-year-old unemployed Carson City resident was arrested at 6:28 p.m. Saturday in the 800 block of East Musser Street on suspicion of misdemeanor failure to appear. Bail was set at $556 cash.
• Brian Barry Kowal, 31, unemployed from Tucson, Ariz., was arrested at 10:35 a.m. Saturday in the 800 block of East Musser Street on suspicion of a felony warrant and three misdemeanor warrants. No bail was set.
Lyon County
The following are some of the 122 calls to which deputies responded:
• A report of a drunk driver at Highway 50 East and Riverboat Road in Mark Twain at 4:01 a.m. Saturday. A misdemeanor arrest was made.
• A report of a fight between a store owner and a customer allegedly trying to shoplift alcohol at a store in the 400 block of East Main Street in Fernley at 11:57 a.m. Saturday.
• A report of a domestic dispute in the 8400 block of Iroquois Trail in Stagecoach at 6:22 p.m. Saturday. A misdemeanor arrest was made.
• A report of an older man trying to get a 9-year-old to meet in a park by using walkie-talkies. The incident occurred in the 900 block of Agate Way in Fernley at 9:08 p.m. Saturday.
