Mark Fainaru-Wada, co-author of the book "Game of Shadows: Barry Bonds, BALCO, and the Steroids Scandal that Rocked Professional Sports," will host a fund-raiser today at the University of Nevada's Jot Travis Student Union Alumni Room at 7 p.m.

Tickets are $25 and are available at the door in the room one floor above the ASUN Bookstore on campus. There will also be a silent auction with Wolf Pack and other sports memorablia.

Student tickets are $10 at the door and all the proceeds will go to the Reno chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.

Wada, and co-author Lance Williams work for the San Francisco Chronicle and broke one of the most talked-about scandals in Major League Baseball history, regarding home run record holder Barry Bonds.

Wada and Williams obtained secret grand jury testimony and published it. When the federal government asked where they had obtained the information, the two risked potential imprisonment to honor one of the most sacred journalistic values of not revealing their sources.
