Lyon County Commissioner Larry McPherson is recovering and receiving visitors at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center.
He said he feels great, but will stay in the hospital to regulate his medication.
"They did find a blood clot in my heart and they're starting me on this Coumadin program," he said. "I have a few flakes of this clot going up to the left side of my brain."
He said he has met with Lyon County Manager Bob Hadfield and others from his district.
"This is my office now," he said. "It hasn't kept me from doing the business that I have to do."
McPherson praised the hospital staff and said even the food was good.
"They're treating me real good up here," he said.
