A celebration of life for Henry Charles Horn, 79, an eight-year resident of Minden, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at 1A Harbor Rd. in Dayton.
Mr. Horn died Aug. 5, 2007, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was born May 3, 1928, to Ernest P. and Pauline Horn in Philadelphia, Pa. He married Regina A. Hoade on Sept. 10, 1955, in Philadelphia. Prior to moving to Minden, Mr. Horn lived in Las Vegas.
He received his education at General Motors Institute of Technology. He was a technical writer and editor for Hewlett Packard Co. and a manager of Mini-Maxi Storage in Carson City.
He was in the U.S. Army, 2nd Armored Division from 1950-56. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed photography, writing, fishing and exploring Nevada mining towns.
Mr. Horn was preceded in death by his wife in April 1999 in Las Vegas; brother Calvin L. Horn in Nov. 1944 in England; and sister Ethel G. Snyder.
Among his survivors are son, Frank E. Horn of Minden; sons and daughters-in-law, Henry C. and Barbara Horn and David T. and Debbie Horn of Ore.; brothers, Ernest S. Horn of Carson City; brother and sister-in-law, Ludwig P. and Amy Horn of Chicago, Ill.; sister, Pauline M. McCabe of Florida; four grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews.
Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Funeral Home.
