Memorial services for Roy "Dan" Rasor, 61, a Carson City resident will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday at Oakwood Cemetery in Chatsworth, Calif.
Mr. Rasor died, July 20, 2007, at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center. He was born May 26, 1946, to Roy Rasor and Marguerite Boyle in North Hollywood.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps until his retirement in 1983. He served in Vietnam, trained new recruits as a drill instructor at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego, and worked as an administrative chief with the 214 Blacksheep Squadron in El Toro, Calif. He worked as an office manager for small businesses in Northern Nevada and Southern California and operated his own small business in Woodland Hills, Calif.
He is preceded in death by his father Roy Rasor; stepfather Edward Boyle and brother Don Myers all of Simi Valley.
Among his survivors are his mother Marguerite Boyle; stepmother Marge Rasor both of Simi Valley; sons and daughters-in-law Andrew and Sheila of Winnemucca, Matthew and Katie of Carson City; sisters Kathy Bennett of Stevenson Ranch, Calif., and Susan Smith of Simi Valley; and grandchildren Sharissa, Isaac, and Olivia.
