Country Dance at Brewery Saturday
The Nevada Bluegrass Project will host an old-fashioned "Country Dance" 7-11 p.m. Saturday at the Brewery Arts Center.
Country Dancing is the newest/oldest fad, cropping up at bluegrass festivals. Country Dances were all the rage in 1800 throughout Appalachia and the rural regions of America. Learn from professionals how to do "Contra Dancing" and "Clogging."
Chris and Darla Bayer of Carson City will provide instruction in "Contra Dancing."
There will be a special presentation at 7:30 by Evie Ladin - a dancer with the San Francisco-based traditional music and dance troupe, The Stairwell Sisters. She will offer instruction in "Appalachian Clogging" from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

Children's Theater offering workshops
Wild Horse Children's Theater presents a workshop of the "Triple Threat" techniques geared to students ages 7 and up who have their sights set on the Broadway stage.
There will be two workshops Saturday. The first, 10 a.m.-noon, is for students with beginning-level experience who will learn dance and vocal numbers from the Broadway musical "Cats." The second, 1-3 p.m., is for intermediate or higher-level students who have some previous dance training. In this workshop they will learn the original Broadway choreography and songs from "Hairspray." All students will leave with a CD of their performance. The cost of the workshop is $30.
Sierra Scott is the guest instructor. Scott will also take a limited number of half-hour private consultations for advanced students who want to work on their own music. Cost is $20.

Day of golf set for 30-year CHS reunion
Carson High School Class of 1977 continues its reunion with a golf tournament at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Eagle Valley West Course.

DJ Lawrence plays at MontBleu
Deejay Christopher Lawrence, recognized as a top DJ, producer and turntable artist, will take the stage at the Opal Ultra Lounge inside the MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa at midnight Saturday.
This illustrious dance music mixer has headlined across the globe hypnotizing dance floors with his tough progressive and sleek techno style.
Opal Ultra Lounge doors will open at 8 p.m. Friday with the show to begin at midnight.

All tickets are general admission and the show is for guests 21 and over.

Churchill Arts Council to host Montoya Band
Fallon and the Churchill Arts Council will present a free in-the-park concert with The Coco Montoya Band 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Oats Park, in front of the Oats Park Art Center.
Bring a picnic and enjoy and evening of music under the stars. CAC's Art Bar @The Oats Park Art Center will be open following the performance. Call the arts council at 423-1440.
