A Nevada Department of Corrections escapee was found early Tuesday morning when he sought treatment at a Reno hospital.
Prison spokesman Greg Smith said Richard Thomas may have been injured in a pedestrian versus vehicle accident and that he will be under the supervision of corrections staff until his medical release.
Thomas was housed at the Northern Nevada Restitution Center in Reno. He failed to return from a community work site Friday and was officially listed as missing at 10:45 p.m.
Thomas, 27, was serving one to five years for grand larceny of a motor vehicle. He was convicted in Washoe County.
Smith said it is unknown if Thomas will face charges in addition to his unauthorized absence from the restitution center.
