The AT&T Foundation has donated $10,000 to support Western Nevada College's "Bridge to Success" program.
In November, more than 500 high school students will visit WNC and meet with technology instructors in their areas of interest.
Students will receive information about admissions, counseling, financial aid, and registration. Lunch will be provided, and students will have a chance to win prizes, including a scholarship to WNC.
For more than 60 years, AT&T has committed more than $1.8 billion to philanthropic programs supporting education, community development, the arts, health and human services and technology access in communities across the country.
New billboard to be unveiled by Carson City Chamber on Monday
Carson City Area Chamber of Commerce will unveil its new billboard at 2 p.m. Monday featuring the chamber's advertisement directing visitors and shoppers to downtown Carson City.
The billboard, on Highway 50 at the base of Spooner Summit near Costco, was constructed by Rogers Media of Davis, Calif., who is providing the east side of the billboard on Highway 50 south for sole use of the chamber to promote Carson City.
The advertisement is designed to attract visitors to the downtown core and was created by artist Mary Weaver.

Tastefully Simple adds Carson residents to its national sales roster
Carson City residents Michele Encinas and Lori Lowes have become independent consultants with Tastefully Simple Inc., a national direct-sales company featuring easy-to-prepare gourmet products.
