Observatory open for full lunar eclipse

The Jack C. Davis Observatory will be open overnight (Monday evening-Tuesday morning) for viewing of the total lunar eclipse.

The penumbra (partial) eclipse begins at 1:51 a.m.; umbra (total) eclipse is at 2:52 a.m., with umbra (end) at 4:51 a.m. Total time of the eclipse is 3 hours, 37 minutes.

"We will have members of the Western Nevada Astronomic Society on hand and videotaping the eclipse," said Robert Collier, director.
