The Carson City Parks and Recreation Department says people should be aware that there have been several sightings of coyotes in the past few weeks, especially in Riverview Park and trails near the Carson River.
Riverview Park is at the east end of Fifth Street, at East Fifth Street and Marsh Road.
The department said in a press release that "there is no cause for undue alarm," but people should be aware of the situation. People on trails should keep small children under supervision and pets on a leash.
