Wild Nevada calendar on sale


The 2007 version of the Wild Nevada wall calendar, which showcases a diversity of beautiful wild landscapes from across Nevada, is on sale for $12 and available at Sundance books, ASUN Bookstore, Gordon's Photo and the Nevada Museum of Art. 'Nick of Time' plays at the BAC


The Nick of Time Christmas Show will be presented by the Carson Performing Arts at 7:30 p.m. today and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Donald W. Reynolds Black Box Theater, 449 W. King St.

Dem. Committee celebrating new location Saturday


Carson City Democratic Central Committee have recently relocated their office to 111 Telegraph St., Suite 104. To help celebrate this new location and in conjunction with the holidays an open house will be held 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. Refreshments will be served.

Gingerbread house instruction available


La-Tea-Da Tea Shoppe will be having an afternoon for children to build their own Gingerbread house from 1-5 p.m. Saturday. There will be an instructor on hand to help. Please bring a premade kit and an apron. For reservations and information call 883-8461.




Elks giving kids a shot at competition


Carson City Elks Lodge #2177 annual youth "Hoop-Shoot" will be Saturday at the Carson Middle School gymnasium. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. and competition will begin at 10 a.m. All children, girls and boys, aged 8-13 are welcome to participate in this annual free-throw event. They should be accompanied by a parent or adult sponsor. Enter through the south entrance to avoid the construction taking place. For information call 882-8868.

Deuce playing benefit concert Saturday


Popular local music duo Deuce will play a benefit concert 7-9 p.m. Saturday for the Mineral County Council on the Arts at the High Desert Arts and Culture Center, 360 Sixth St., Hawthorne. Tickets are $5.


Nonalcoholic beverages will be available at the concert and all proceeds benefit the Mineral County Council on the Arts, which runs the High Desert Arts and Culture Center in the historic Sixth Street primary school building. For information on the benefit concert call 945-3954.
