The Nevada Department of Transportation is reporting all routes open with no controls with the following exceptions in Northern Nevada and Northern California:

Interstate 80: Chains mandatory from Kingvale, Calif. to 1.8 miles west of Truckee.

US Highway 50: Snow tires or chains required from 10.6 miles east of Kyburz, Calif. to SR 89; snow tires or chains required for 14.6 miles from .7 miles east of California state line and 6.9 miles west of US Highway 395 at south Carson City.

US Highway 395: High wind advisory in Washoe Valley " campers and trailers are not advised.

Today's weather will be breezy with southwest winds 10-15 mph increasing to 15-20 mph in the afternoon with gusts up to 35 mph and isolated showers mainly in the afternoon.

Tonight, windy with a chance of rain and snow in the evening with rain and snow likely after midnight, snow level 5500 feet, accumulation up to 2 inches.
