Sandra Lee Hunter passed away Dec. 19, 2007 at her residence in Carson City. She was 59 years old. Sandra was born Jan. 22, 1948 in San Diego, Calif. to Calvin and Eloise Hunter.
Sandra was retired from the State of Nevada Department of Corrections as a Correctional Lieutenant with 20 years of service. She also held her Nevada Real Estate Agent license. Sandra enjoyed life fully, whether being at home with her Bichons or camping at the ocean, she was always open to new adventures. She mastered many creative endeavors: crocheting, knitting, cooking, gardening, cake decorating and created the most unique gift wrapping in the world. Sandra loved her family deeply. Her and Steve's home was the center of numerous family gatherings. Sandra was generous, loving and a wonderful mother and wife. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Calvin O. Hunter and her Bichon, Indy and cat, Wookie.
Sandra is survived by her beloved husband, Steve Asikainen of Carson City; daughter, Christina McEntee of Carson City; son, Randy Erwin and his wife Nichole; granddaughter Madison, and grandson, Hunter all of Pendleton, Ore.; her mother, Eloise Hunter of Carson City, and three sisters, Barbara Hunter of Boise, Idaho, Beverly Hunter of Castle Rock, Wash. and Karen Cambier of Fairfield, Calif.; several nieces and nephews; and friend Larry Norman of Castle Rock, Wash.
A Celebration of Life for Sandra will be Wed., Dec. 26, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Walton's Chapel in Carson City. Walton's Chapel of the Valley has been entrusted with her final arrangements.
