FISH and IRS team up to provide free tax assistance
FISH and the IRS will be teaming up for the 18th year to assist low-income and senior families with tax preparation for free. Assistance will be provided on Saturdays starting today and running through April 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the FISH classroom, 138 E. Long St. suite C. Appointments are required for filing; walk-ins with questions only will be served on a time-available basis. Interested individuals should bring the 2006 tax package they received in the mail, W-2 statements, interest statements from banks (form 1099), pension forms 1099R and Social Security forms SSA1099, as well as a copy of last year's return and any other relevant information concerning income and expenses. Natives, Newcomers to meet Thursday; RSVP by Tuesday

Master Gardener workshop Tuesday
The University of Nevada, Reno's Cooperative Extension will be holding a free Master Gardener workshop entitled "Training and Pruning Fruit Trees" at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Bartley Ranch Regional Park in Reno. Master Gardener Michael Janik will discuss how to prune and train fruit trees to maximize their production and keep them looking good, as well as how to restore older trees. Reno theater group stages 'Pillowman'
"The Pillowman" play by Martin McDonagh opens Friday at Reno's Brüka Theatre.
With echoes of Stoppard and Kafka, "The Pillowman" is a viciously funny and seriously disturbing play. No one under the age of 16 will be admitted.
Doors open a half an hour before curtain time. Tickets are $14 for students and seniors, $16 for general admission, $20 at the door.
Show dates are Feb. 9-10,15-16,17,22,-23, 24 and March 1-2-3, 8-9-10 at 8 p.m. Matinees: Feb. 18 and March 4 at 2 p.m.
