Dennis Vern Rusler, 64, a 30-year Northern Nevada resident, died Feb. 5, 2007, at his home in Carson City.
Mr. Rusler was born Aug. 21, 1942, in York, Neb., to Garland and Pella Rusler.
He married Joyce Rusler on Jan. 13, 1963, in Las Vegas.
Before moving to Northern Nevada, Mr. Rusler lived in Southern California.
He attended junior college and the police academy.
He was a Los Angeles County deputy, later moving to Nevada and becoming a business owner and Harrah's Tahoe employee.
He was preceded in death by his brother Robert Rusler and daughter, Robyn Rusler.
Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; daughter Diana Snyder of Heath, Texas; son, Todd Rusler of Gardnerville; sisters Donna Witte and Sharon Smith; brothers Roger Rusler and Forrest Rusler; and five grandchildren.
Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory. A private service will be held.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
