A memorial service for Leota Marie Shipley, 98, a Mason Valley resident since 1930, will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home, 25 Highway 208 in Yerington.
Mrs. Shipley died Feb. 2, 2007, at the South Lyon Medical Center. She was born Jan. 5, 1909, in Huntington Beach, Calif., to Arthur Garner and Bertha Bush Garner.
She attended school in Bishop, Calif.
She married Clarence Shipley in 1927.
She was a member of the Homemaker's Organization and had served as president several times. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and needlepoint.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lorraine.
Among her survivors are her son, Arthur Shipley of Yerington; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Burial took place at the Masonic Memorial Cemetery.
Freitas Rupracht Funeral Home in Yerington is in charge of arrangements.
