The Douglas High boys basketball team should be at full strength again when it travels to Reed today for a 7 p.m. game in the Northern 4A quarterfinals.

The three leading scorers for Douglas - Keith Olson, Mike Gransbery and Jeff Nady - all missed the final two games of the regular season with minor injuries, but all should play against Reed.

Reed (15-12, 8-4 in the High Desert) is the High Desert's No. 2 seed while Douglas (21-8, 11-3 in the Sierra League) is the Sierra League's No. 3 seed.

The Raiders have won their last four games held held their last three opponents under 50 points.

The 6-10 Olson, who has signed with Northern Arizona, leads a huge size advantage for Douglas against Reed, one of the Northern 4A's smallest teams. Olson is averageing 18 points and 13 rebounds.

"They're just a big team," Reed coach Paul Gray told the Sparks Tribune. "They do a good job outletting the ball and pushing it up the court, but they also do a real good job just pounding it inside. That's a real contrast to us. They're a post-oriented team with a tremendous amount of size.

"They're going to put four guys on the court who are well over 6-foot and we're going to put four guys on the court who are under 6-foot. You've got a David and Goliath thing going here."

Also for Douglas, Nady is 6-7, Nate Whalin and Kevin Emm are 6-3 and Joe Nady is 6-8. Reed is led by its pair of guards, point guard Omarri Williams and Alex McKenzie.
