You, too, can stroll the red carpet and air kiss just like the stars as Carson City celebrates the Academy Awards with the Soroptimists' A Night at the Oscars, sponsored in part by Miles Construction Co.
Six tuxedo-clad men will pour the champagne as guests enjoy the type of pampering usually reserved for the elite of the entertainment world.
The glitz, sparkle and excitement of this event will have everyone feeling like a winner.

Justice of the Peace John Tatro is not only an extremely qualified judge, he also works diligently behind the scenes to help the community.
On Feb. 28, Tatro will speak about our community, his home and the ongoing war against methamphetamine.
Tatro has been a member of the steering committee for Partnership Carson City, an anti-meth coalition, since it began in 2005, and has witnessed the devastating effects this drug has had on the community.

The 13th annual Cowboy Jubilee and Poetry is coming to town March 10.
This fun night for a great cause is organized by the Carson Tahoe Regional Healthcare Auxiliary, which really knows how to put together an authentic Western barbecue with all the fixin's.
This year, the show will feature cowboy poet Paul Zarazyski, with music by Sourdough Slim, Juni Fisher and Wylie and the Wild West.
All proceeds go to Regional Medical Center, nursing scholarships and regional health-care needs.
Like I said - great cause, great entertainment and fabulous food!
