Arthur J. Shatz, 89, a Carson City resident since 1974, died Feb. 26, 2007.
He was born Sept. 19, 1917, in Pittsburgh to Peter Shatz and Mary Binder Shatz.
He married Ann Frew on Nov. 25, 1966, in Bellflower, Calif.
Before moving to Carson City, Mr. Shatz lived in Glendale, Calif.
He was a retired tool-and-die maker, and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Loretta Shatz.
Among his survivors are his wife of Carson City; daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Jim Burt of Gardnerville; sons Arthur J. Shatz Jr. of Hawaii and Jeff Shatz of Carson City; brothers and sisters-in-law Walt and Lucille Shatz of Marino Valley, Calif., and Vernon and Marilyn Shatz of La Crescenta, Calif.; grandson Matt Barr of Reno; and numerous nieces and nephews.
No services are scheduled.
Capitol City Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
