Martha M. Connors, 89, a Carson City resident since 1957, died Jan. 3, 2007, in Carson City.
Mrs. Connors was born Feb. 22, 1917, in Oakland, Calif., to John and Mary Ann Fontes.
She worked at the Carson Nugget for 16 years before her retirement in the late 1970s.
She enjoyed reading and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Connors, in 1996; brother Walter Fontes in 1962; and sister Elva Pacheco in 1998.
She is survived by her nephew Walter Fontes Jr. of Hayward, Calif.
Walton's Chapel of the Valley is in charge of arrangements.
