The Nevada State Contractors Board adjucated cases involving three contractors at its Jan. 10 meeting.
Ideal Concrete Construction, based out of Reno; Wahl to Wahl Construction, based out of Minden; and Behl Custom Homes, based out of Reno, were all found in violation of Nevada Revised Statute 624.
Disciplinary actions may consist of a fine of up to $10,000 per offense, corrective action, suspension, revocation or other action.
Carney named assistant relationship officer
Nevada State Bank has hired Todd Carney as assistant relationship officer. He will provide relationship services to clients with borrowing or other banking needs.
Carney is a 2006 graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno with degrees in finance and economics. In 200506, he was president of the Financial Management Association chapter at UNR. Last spring, he lead his UNR student team to a third-place finish in The Business Strategy Game, a worldwide competition sponsored by McGraw-Hill Irwin in which student teams participate in a computer simulation of the strategic-management market.
Carney was trading operations specialist for Navellier & Associates, Inc. He holds the National Association of Security Dealers Series 6 and Series 63 designations for selling mutual funds and variable annuities and for soliciting orders for securities.
Salas named JM Furniture's 'Delivery Person of the Year'
Ed Salas was awarded the "Delivery Person of the Year" award from JM Furniture. He has been with the company for more than four years and covers a territory from South Lake Tahoe to Yerington.
His navigator, Pedro Torres, just made his first solo run with navigator Mike Reilly; both are students of Salas. Salas is recognized as having an outstanding driving and safety record.

UPS to offer passport photo service
Effective Tuesday, U.S. citizens traveling to Canada, Mexico, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda will be required to present a valid U.S. passport.
The UPS store will be offering passport photos to help local travelers prepare.
Stores are on Highway 50 East in Carson City, off of Topsy Lane in Douglas County and in the Smith's center in Dayton.
All three stores are open 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
