A memorial for Clarence Hewlett, 82, a Carson City resident for 46 years, will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 411 N. Saliman Drive.
Internment with military honors will be 11 a.m. Monday at Northern Nevada Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Fernley.
Mr. Hewlett died Jan. 15, 2007, in Carson City.
He was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Erie, Colo., to Arthur Hewlett and Zella Swallow. Prior to living in Carson City, he lived in Ely.
Mr. Hewlett married Kathleen May Price on Aug. 31, 1945, in Ely.
He worked for the state of Nevada, U.S. Postal Service and Carson News Agency.
Mr. Hewlett served in the U.S. Navy in World War II and the Korean War.
Among his survivors are his wife; children Nancy L. Hewlett Angel, Mary Ellen Hewlett Currier, Richard Earl Hewlett and Kenneth C. Hewlett; sisters Violet Waits, Wilma Waits, Bonnie Smith and LaJetta Smith; brothers Thomas Hewlett, Frank Hewlett and Pete Hewlett; seven grandchildren;, 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
FitzHenry's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
