Another 4.5 grams of methamphetamine was taken off the street with the help of an informant working with the Carson City Sheriff's Department's Special Enforcement Team.

Angel Martinez-Rojas, 27, of the 100 block of Koontz Lane, was booked into the Carson City Jail on suspicion of felony trafficking in methamphetamine and possession of a controlled substance.

According to the arrest report, the informant arranged to purchase $150 in meth on Tuesday night from a "broker" in an apartment in the 1700 block of North Carson Street.

When the informant went to purchase the meth, the broker allegedly called Martinez-Rojas, and he delivered it.

The informant then turned the drugs over to police, who in turn contacted the tenant of the apartment and confronted him about the sale.

"The broker then asked to work with us and told us he could buy $200 worth of methamphetamine and have it delivered to his house by the same subject who delivered it earlier," the report states.

When Martinez-Rojas arrived at the apartment, deputies opened the door and detained him. During a search of his vehicle, officers allegedly recovered 4.5 grams of meth. In his wallet, they reportedly found the $100 bill which was provided to the informant for the buy.

"This was confirmed by a photocopy of the earlier money given to the informant," the report states.

Sgt. Darin Sloan, SET supervisor, said his team will continue to arrest dealers and use informants.

He said a majority of the tips SET receives come from the Carson City Sheriff's Department's Meth Hotline. Anyone with information on drug dealing in Carson City is asked to call the hotline at 887-2020, ext. METH

For more information on the hotline, SET, or to speak directly with Sloan call 887-2020 ext. 3174.

Eleven people have been arrested by SET in the past two days on drug-related charges, Sloan said.
