The Nevada football program has hired Jim House and Charlie Camp to round out its coaching staff, head coach Chris Ault announced Monday.
"I am pleased to have both Jim House and Charlie Camp join our staff," Ault said. "Jim brings a wealth of experience to our defensive line. Charlie was an outstanding linebacker in college and he has applied his intensity as a player to his on-the-field coaching."
House will coach the defensive line and Camp will handle inside linebackers for the Wolf Pack.
"I am excited to be back in the Wolf Pack family," House said. "It feels like I am coming home."
House is no stranger to Wolf Pack football, having coached at Nevada from 1990-2001.
A star linebacker at Wyoming, House began his coaching career at his alma mater in 1974 and spent 11 years at Wyoming.
After coaching the 1986 season at Montana State, House spent three seasons at San Jose State before coming to Nevada. Most recently, House coached four seasons at San Diego State before spending last season at Sacramento State.
"Jim knows my expectations and has a good understanding of our 'play hard and fast' philosophy," Ault said. "His recruiting background and relationships with high school coaches throughout the West should serve us well in the future."
Camp was a star linebacker at Arizona in the 1990s, part of the famed "Desert Swarm" defense. After playing professionally in the Canadian Football League, Camp began his coaching career in 1998 at Idaho.
He spent two seasons (2000-01) at San Diego State before going back to his alma mater for one season in 2002.
Camp coached linebackers at Oregon State in 2003 and 2004 before moving on to San Jose State for the past two seasons.
"His experience on the defensive side of the ball will be invaluable to our attack style of play," Ault said of Camp. "In addition he has recruited extensively in areas that have traditionally been very rich in talent."
Said Camp: "I am very excited to be part of this program and to work with Coach Ault. This is a tremendous opportunity and I look forward winning championships here."
