A 28-year-old ex-con was arrested early Thursday morning in a sting set up by the Carson City Sheriff's Department Special Enforcement Team.
David Michael Parren, of the 4900 block of August Drive, was arrested in the 1700 block of North Carson Street at 12:40 a.m. on suspicion of felony trafficking in methamphetamine.
According to the arrest report, the team used a "ruse," giving Parren the impression he was arriving at the location to sell methamphetamine. Officers allegedly found 30.5 grams of methamphetamine on Parren and the woman he was with was arrested on a warrant for a traffic citation.
Parren is a felon for robbery.
Sgt. Darrin Sloan, SET commander, said in the last month, his team has seized 117.3 grams of methamphetamine and 28.3 grams of marijuana. More than a dozen people have been arrested.
