Roberts House to hold teas through May


The Roberts House Museum, 1207 N. Carson St., will be holding teas on Saturday, and one Sunday in February, March, April and May for fundraising. For dates, prices of teas and reservations, call Paula Cannon at 887-8865.




Donate blood to enter chance to win plasma TV


People who donate blood this month can enter United Blood Services' Super Bowl raffle for a chance to win a 42-inch plasma-screen television, to be awarded in time to watch the big game in style. Walk-ins are accepted.

Senior center to offer computer classes


The Carson City Senior Citizens Center will offer two computer classes in February.


"Introduction to Computers" will meet from 9-11 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Feb. 12 for four weeks. The fee is $40 per person.


"Internet Workshop" meets from 1-4 p.m. Feb. 20 and 22. This class requires a basic computer proficiency. Cost is $20 per person.

Douglas County


Senior health fair Wednesday


The Douglas County Senior Center will be conducting its eighth annual Senior Health Fair from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, in the Shannon Ballroom of the Carson Valley Inn, 1627 Highway 395 in Minden.


The free fair is designed to provide seniors and the community an expanded awareness of health-care providers and services. There will be blood pressure checks from 9 a.m.-noon and massage therapy from 9-11 a.m. There will also be a daylong raffle with proceeds going toward the Meals on Wheels program.


Free transportation to the fair will be provided for Douglas County seniors by calling DART at 783-6456. For information, call 783-6455.




Lake Tahoe


Tech N9ne leads dance show at MontBleu


The EverReady Tour with Tech N9ne plus three other acts is Wednesday at MontBleu Resort on the south shore of Lake Tahoe at 8:30 p.m. The EverReady Tour is an all-ages dance show, and tickets are $20 in advance and $25 day of show.


Performing with Tech N9ne are Big Krizz Kaliko and Kutt Calhoun. In addition, Subnoize SoulJaz, featuring Potluck; Dead Celebrity Status; and Critical Bill, a five-man band from Detroit, join the tour.

Guitarist Tim Reynolds appears at Biltmore


Acoustic guitar wizard Tim Reynolds performs Friday at the Tahoe Biltmore in Crystal Bay. Reynolds's musical introduction began at age 12, playing electric bass before congregations three times a week until his high school graduation. He then plunged into jazz and late '60s and early '70s psychedelic rock.
