The Carson High ski teams were finally able to take to the slopes on Tuesday thanks to Homewood.
Carson's boys opened the season with a 90-46 win over Rite of Passage. Carson's girls were also credited with a 90-0 win over ROP.
With the lack of snow, many area schools haven't been able to begin the season, but Homewood was able to provide a place for Carson and ROP to ski on Tuesday. "They've pretty much resurrected the season," Carson coach Jack Reinhardt said.
Carson swept the top six spots in the boys slalom race. Spencer Brinson (25.3 seconds) was followed by Mike Weiderman (29.3), Andy Hook (29.9), Clayton Hollett (30.0), Taylor Phillips (30.6) and Andrew Richards (31.3).
Tatum Boehnke had an outstanding effort for the girls, finishing the race in 25.5 seconds. The rest of Carson's top six finishers were Megan Carter (30.9), Lisa Midboe (32.6), Nicole Carlevato (33.4), Katie Carter (33.5) and Tina Midboe (33.4).
