A funeral service for Carrie H. Barnwell, 81, a recent resident of Carson City, will be 3 p.m. today at Walton's Chapel of the Valley in Carson City. Ms. Barnwell died July 5, 2007.
Ms. Barnwell was born Aug. 29, 1925, in Crestview, Fla., to Leon C. Hinote and Cora Pebble Powell. Before moving to Carson City, Barnwell lived in Florida and Alabama.
Ms. Barnwell was a cosmetologist and a licensed Practical Nurse. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one son.
Ms. Barnwell is survived by her children Jack Barnwell of Phoenix, Ariz., Pebble Thomas and her husband Jed, of Macclenny, Fla., and Bonnie Jacobsen of Minden; sisters Annette Mullally and Betty Baynes, both of Alabama; brother Harold Hinote of Florida; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Burial will take place at Walton's Carson Gardens Cemetery.
