Gerald Keith Hunt, 71, a three-year resident of Carson City died July 3, 2007, at Evergreen Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Dec. 14, 1935, in Boise, Idaho, to Gerald Hunt and Mabel O. McMullen.
He married Mary Lavering on Dec. 13, 1983. She preceded him in death.
Before moving to Carson City he lived in Hayfork, Calif.
Mr. Hunt completed three years of college. He was employed in Non-Destructive Testing and was a cabinetmaker and mechanic. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
He enjoyed sailing and prospecting for gold. He built his own Trimaran and sailed the Pacific Ocean from San Francisco, to Figi, New Zealand, Australia and the Cook Islands.
Among his survivors are his sister, Norma Taylor, of Carson City, three nieces, one nephew, two aunts and one uncle.
Cremation will be at FitzHenry's Crematory. His remains will be scattered in the Pacific Ocean.
