The Nevada Bighorns baseball program will hold tryouts for a fall 15 and under team at 9 a.m. Saturday at Ron McNutt Field.
Northern Nevada and South Tahoe area players are invited to attend. The team will play on weekends during the fall with games to be held from the end of August until early October.
Games will be played against teams from the Sacramento area, the Bay Area and possibly Southern California. Current Bighorns Jeff Young, Adam Anderson and Eric Melendez will coach the team.
The Bighorns will play a doubleheader against the Chico Sabres, beginning at 3 p.m. at McNutt Field. The Bighorns will then face the Reno Astros at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Moana Stadium.
The Bighorns will the return to McNutt Field for games against a team from Utah at 7 p.m. August 2 and 3. The Bighorns will conclude its season against Medford, Ore., at McNutt Field on Aug. 11 and 12. They will play a doubleheader, beginning at 5 p.m. on August 11 and will play at noon on August 12.
The Bighorns will also have a fund-raising golf tournament on October 13 at Eagle Valley Golf Course. For more information, call Dennis Young, 267-2283.
