A Carson City man was among four people injured in a collision South of Bellevue, Idaho, on Tuesday, according to a story in an Idaho newspaper.

Blaine County Sheriff's Lt. Ron Taylor told the Idaho Mountain Express that three of the victims were treated and released later Tuesday. An elderly man was held overnight and released Wednesday.

The mishap occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. one mile south of Bellevue on state Highway 75.

According to Taylor, a 1998 Ford motor home driven by Marvin Orvik, 82, of Carson City, was northbound when Orvik "fell asleep at the wheel" and drifted into the southbound lane, sideswiping a 1997 Ford F250 pickup driven by Daniel Tellez, 26, of Jerome, Idaho.

"Daniel tried to avoid him, but it was impossible because Orvik just kept coming toward him," Taylor told the Idaho Mountain Express.

A Wood River Fire and Rescue ambulance transported Orvik, Tellez and two passengers in the Tellez vehicle to the hospital.

Taylor said the accident could have been much worse.

Both vehicles were totaled.

Taylor said the accident was still being investigated Thursday and no citations had been issued.
