Thespina "Tessie" Hansen, 86, a resident of Carson City for 24 years, died July 27, 2007, in Las Vegas.
Mrs. Hansen was born March 10, 1921, in Ely to John Bartsas and Sophia Bano.
She married Harris A. Hansen.
She graduated from White Pine High School in 1939 and attended the University of Nevada, Reno, for two years. She was a small business owner. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Business and Professional Women's Club, bridge club, and Eastern Star. She enjoyed antiques, painting, stained-glass work and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her brother Pete Bartsas, of Las Vegas, in 1979 and her sister Alexandra Bartsas Christensen, of Denver, Colo., in 2005.
Among her survivors are her husband; son and daughter-in-law Aaron and Selina Hansen; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharron and David Prusse, and Maureen and Paul Moffitt; sister Mary Bartsas, 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Viewing will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary in Las Vegas followed by funeral services at 11 a.m.
Mrs. Hansen will be buried beside her brother and sister in Las Vegas.
