The Nevada Bighorns carried a 1-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth inning, but errors and walks proved to be their downfall in a 6-1 loss to one of the West Coast's top college-level programs, the Humboldt Crabs on Friday at Arcada, Calif.

It was an electric atmosphere as the game was played in front of 1,565 fans. The Bighorns jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first. Ryan Simpson, who went 3-for-4, drove in the Bighorns only run.

But in the fifth with the bases loaded, three straight walks forced in three runs. Greg Pellicini had an outstanding start for the Bighorns, allowing no runs over four innings while striking out five and walking one. The Bighorns outhit Humboldt 6-5. Aaron Henry, Tyson Jaquez and Adam Anderson each added a hit for the Bighorns. The two teams will play again today in a doubleheader, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
