While idly browsing through the names of hunters at www.huntnevada.com, who were successful in drawing 2007 Nevada big game tags, I thought it might be interesting to randomly select some of the successful tag holders from this general area, just like I did last year.
It's public information, so what the heck, let's see who (A-Z) is going hunting this year.
If your name is listed, it's the result of my selection process.
If your name is not listed, it is also the result of my selection.

There they are: "Don Q" randomly selected hunters (A-Z) who were successful in the computerized drawings for big game tags.
Also included in the successful hunters was one family: Salvatore Quilici of Dayton, son David Quilici of Reno and daughter Betty Savini (Quilici) of Reno, who all drew a rifle bull elk tag. Wow! The odds on that happening have to be mind-boggling!
If you, too, are curious about who was successful or unsuccessful in those drawings, go to website www.huntnevada.com.
At their home page, click on "Tag Results" on the left side, then click on "2007 Main Draw," and then browse through: "Withdrawn," "Successful," "Unsuccessful," "Rejected" or "Bonus Points" to your heart's content.
I did and it was very informative! Especially the long list in the "Unsuccessful" category. Many of them applied for all kinds of different big game hunts and were unsuccessful in drawing any tags.
As one example, James W. Rackley of Winnemucca applied for 13 different hunts and struck out 13 times! Geez, and I thought that I had bad luck in raffles.
• Bet Your Favorite Pigeon
Bet your favorite pigeon that he can't tell you how Don Q did in the 2007 drawings.
If he grins and says, "Don applied for a rifle buck deer tag, a Rocky Mt. bull elk tag and a Calif. bighorn sheep tag. He was successful in drawing the bull elk tag," he could be my elk hunting partner.
