Gardnerville Town Manager Jim Park said Friday he has withdrawn his name from consideration for the Lyon County manager position.

"I'm content where I am," he said. "This is a beautiful place and we have a lot going on."

Park said he sent an e-mail Thursday to Lyon County Human Resources director Steve Englert, but Englert has been on vacation.

Park also said he didn't realize he was the No. 2 candidate for the Lyon County manager job, or that the commission voted to call him and No. 1 candidate Dennis Stark of Charlotte, Mich., back for interviews with individual commissioners.

"I haven't received a call yet," he said.

The previous manager, Donna Kristaponis, was fired Feb. 15. Minden resident Bob Hadfield has been interim county manager since then.
