An auto repair shop on Varney Street in Silver Springs was destroyed in a fire Sunday, three months after surviving a similar fire.
John Gillenwater, Central Lyon County Fire District chief, said no one was injured, but an uninhabited single-wide trailer and the auto shop were totally destroyed.
"It was a really nice auto shop," he said. "We were there about three months ago for a similar fire. That time we did save the shop.
The fire started at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Gillenwater said the cause was undetermined, as was the previous fire, though he said the first one might have been electrical in nature. An uninhabited trailer was destroyed in that fire, too.
"It (the first fire) started around a power pole where a transformer was," he said, but added the exact cause could not be determined.
In addition to the two burned trailers and the shop, the lot was home to three or four more trailers and about 20 cars, he said.
"He has a lot of accumulated yard treasures," Gillenwater said.
At 6:27 p.m. Saturday, a trailer was completely destroyed by fire on Via Catalina Street, and a barn caught fire at 8:28 p.m. Saturday on Antelope Street.
Gillenwater said the firefighters were able to save the barn.
Battalion Chief Bob Kilte said a wildfire began at about 7:20 p.m. Sunday and burned 18 acres in Stagecoach, with no injuries and no structures threatened.
Kilte said the fire was south of Highway 50, off of a gravel road about a half-mile from homes on Leegard Street.
Gillenwater said air tankers grounded by smoke in the Angora fire were put to use fighting the Stagecoach fire.
