The Nevada Division of Wildlife (NDOW) is offering a free, family fishing clinic, next week on Thursday, July 12, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

It will be held at Marilyn's Pond in Galena Park at 18350 Mt. Rose Highway.

That family clinic is designed for children and their parents, and is limited to the first 20 who enroll.

It is geared for entry anglers and will demonstrate basic hook and line setup for young anglers.

There is a minimum age of 5 to attend and an adult must accompany all children. Anyone who is 12 years old or older is required to have a valid Nevada fishing license.

Participants are requested to bring their own fishing rod. A limited number of rods will be available for use by those who do not have their own equipment.

Pre-registration is required. To register or for information, call Chris Vassey at NDOW at 688-1622 during regular hours.
