Several juveniles playing with matches are being cited as the cause of a fire that damaged one building near Roop Street and Northridge Drive.
The Carson City Fire Department was called to the fire just after 6:30 p.m. Saturday and contained the fire in approximately 15 minutes.
The fire melted the siding off one building in the Sierra Springs Apartment Complex, but crews were able to extinguish the flames before the building caught fire.
Battalion Chief Vince Pirozzi said crews had the blaze contained but were checking inside the building to make sure it hadn't spread inside. Pirozzi said they believed the fire was started by children playing with matches.
